pay attention to the details!!!

I've been saying for almost a year now that I am trying to lose those "last 5 pounds" of baby weight, but I never paid attention to what I was eating, and certainly don't workout like I did before I had little d.

With the help of MyfitnessPal, I am finally starting to get an idea why I have been plateau-ing the last little while [not to mention I've been eating closer to what a 300 pound man should be eating daily!]... I don't really know how to measure stuff!!! I gotta say, my idea of a tablespoon was actually closer to 1/4 cup! I've actually started using measuring cups and spoons.
 Also... these puppies have 200 calories A PIECE because it is loaded with butter. DUH. I need to learn that when baked goods taste like heaven melting in my mouth it is usually the result of BUTTER. Not that it will stop me from eating them but maybe eating a half dozen like I did while living in Utah isn't going to happen again.
Also about the Myfitnesspal app... it is BRILLIANT. Every other food diary I have ever had pales in comparison. I used to write it down in a journal [I think I had about 4 of them by the time I married Mr. D] but I never really did anything but say "man I shouldn't eat so much of that!" and feel bad about it. I tried calorie trackers online but seriously I hate being on the computer searching for that crap 24/7. This app is awesome because I can just SCAN my food and it will take in all the information for me!!! BRILLIANT! If you haven't tried it, you should! Don't know how accurate it is, but I have lost the weight I put on over christmas break and am FINALLY down to whittling down those last five pounds.


  1. That looks delicious!! And good for you for getting on losing those last 5lbs. I think i finally lost mine but it seems like it's been FOREVER, and now i'm about ready to put it back on and more with a new bump! Gosh I'm nuts!
